For any organization in banking sector, 90 years is a considerably long period. From humble beginnings, Karapuzha Service Co-operative Bank has grown into the hope of native land and financial hub.
The bank started functioning in Malayalam Era 94 Meenam month 16th in a small building near Malika Peedika, Karappuzha as a self help society registered under Travancore societies registrar. The initial capital was Rs.2000/- and initial membership was 200 Nos. Arakkal Kizhakkedathu Krishna Pillai and N. Neelakanta Pillai served as President and Secretary respectively. M/s Maliekkal K.Neelakanta Pillai, Aroor Othara A.K Narayana Panikkar, Arakkal Kesava Pillai, A.K Narayana Pillai, V.K Parameswaran Pillai were Directors.
Only limited financial transactions were done initially. Within a short span of time, the society gained support and confidence of the general public due to the dedicated hard work and charisma of the founder members.
